Using JavaScript to set variables

When using JavaScript to set variables within CallScripter, please ensure any calculations to set the value of a variable are completed on page load.

If a variable is set through JavaScript using another mechanism (JavaScript button for example), the variable will be set but only temporarily. When the page is left, the variable will return to the state it was on page load.

If you are running calculations on the page based on a variable (for example page formatting based on certain conditions) which is set using a JavaScript button, the variable's state will not be saved. In cases such as these, it is recommended that a hidden field is used in place of the variable.
